God is good. We have arrived in San Antonio Aguas Calientes, Guatemala and have just finished our third week of ministry, and let me tell you; God is at work here. The people here are thirsty to talk about God; something that is very strange to me having grown up in the United States. We have witnessed hope and multiple healings here and it is incredible to see how God is using the local ministries here to help build the Kingdom.

We are currently partnering with a local ministry called Worship Room, who focuses on trying to connect people from different churches in Guatemala so that they can all worship together. This is not a common thing for Guatemalans, as people tend to mostly only do things with the church that they go to. Every Thursday night Worship Room hosts a livestream from 6:30-8:30 pm CT; and let me tell you, the worship and the message are incredible. It’s bilingual (English and Spanish), so if you’re interested in following along, go to their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/WorshipRoomGt Unfortunately the livestreams aren’t saved, so you’ll have to be live with them!

We’re also partnering with Hope Ministries, a branch of Worship Room based out of San Antonio that focuses on community outreach through home visits with locals, teaching English, vacation bible schools (VBS), and sports camps among other things. It has been an absolute honor to be able to partner with these ministries. Below is a list of our ministry days and what we do throughout them.

On Mondays, a few of us teach English, but the majority of us do manual labor at Eco Farms, a self-sustaining farm in Antigua that focuses on teaching people how to farm themselves. This is also the place that Worship Room performs at every Thursday night. Let me tell you, this place is legit.

Tuesdays we do home visits in San Antonio with Hope Ministries. We go out to homes in the area, talk to them about life, and then pray for them. These are people that Hope Ministries has built relationships with and continues to see on a weekly basis. Then we host a VBS for the kids in the area which includes games, a Bible lesson, and lunch.

Wednesdays are Bible study days where we get poured into by others doing ministry in Guatemala. This is a great time for us to get a brief rest and to learn more about what God has for us when we’re in relationship with Him.

Thursdays are worship nights with Worship Room. We help them with their setup and teardown, as well as some of us helping with the worship night itself via singing and instrumentals. Don’t worry, I’m not singing or playing the bass clarinet.

Fridays are more home visits, prayer walks, and a sports camp hosted by a man who works for FCA that incorporates the Bible into the sports that we’re playing. This usually includes games for the kids to play and then a soccer scrimmage at the end. I’m not gonna lie, it’s a little embarrassing being schooled by a bunch of kids half my age.

We’re so thankful to be working with these incredible men and women of God. They have such a huge heart for their community and it’s beautiful to see how much of an impact they’re having on the people around them; not just the locals, but us as well. I’m really excited for the remaining two weeks here in San Antonio.

That’s all for now. I’ll keep updating roughly every two weeks. God bless!
